Next Gen Conference

About the Event.

The Next Gen Conference is a unique developmental opportunity for aspiring leaders and new managers in local government. At the conference we bring together young leaders from NSW councils for a powerful development program specifically designed for emerging leaders.

The conference is an opportunity for you to step out of the day-to-day and shift your focus towards creating a better sector, now and into the future. You will benefit from the session outcomes, insights from the speakers and a growing network of Next Gen colleagues from around the state. 

This year we will be hosting the conference online via a series of engaging and relevant sessions that you can view from the comfort of your home or office space. Sessions will be across two half days from 9.00am - 12.30pm each day, full conference registration will include access to both days and all sessions, including presentations, panel discussions and Q&A.

Who Should Attend

The conference is open to all professionals working in NSW local government and will specifically be beneficial to Next Gen Members and emerging leaders wanting to gain new leadership skills.

A "Boardroom Broadcast" package option is available for councils that will allow staff to come together safely in either your boardroom or council chambers to experience the conference content in the one place. This option allows for any number of colleagues that is safe to come together in one room, from different departments to join in on the sessions and then discuss the content and new learnings together.

How will the Boardroom Broadcast work? A zoom link will be sent through to the registered contact where they will be able to access the session and share it to a screen for everyone to see. All involved will still have the opportunity to ask speakers and sponsors questions, we just ask that those wishing to speak are close to a microphone so that we can hear you clearly.

Should you be unable to meet due to lockdown and social distance orders, council will be allocated up to ten connections for the Next Gen delegates to log on from their workspace.
