Willoughby City Council - ´Dexter’ the Robot
Next up in our series of LG Excellence award winning webinars is Willoughby City Council's 'Dexter' the robot.

Dexter the Robot" initiative was part of Willoughby Council's desire to improve customer's experience. Council has used Robotics Process Automation (RPA) to automate domestic waste pick up requests process. This has led to ~8 weeks operational savings for Council and has also improved customer's experience with an immediate confirmation of requests. Council is now expanding its RPA automation to other customer service request processes and development applications in 2020.

  Mustafa has more than 20 years experience across various industries in five different countries. Mustafa’s experience includes operational excellence, innovation, project management and change management. Mustafa joined Willoughby City Council as Head of Business Improvement in October 2015. He now also leads Customer Experience function for the Council.

Prior to this Mustafa worked for Insurance Australia Group (IAG) as a Business Improvement Manager and a Master Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma.

Mustafa’s current role is varied including hands on leadership of business improvement initiatives, building automation capability, and aligning organisational improvements to ‘Voice of Customer’ using change management approaches. Willoughby Council has won two Local Government Professionals excellence awards in 2017 and 2020 under Mustafa’s leadership.
