Next up in our series of LG Excellence award winning webinars is Waverley Council's Collaborating for Impact program.

Collaborating for Impact (C4I) program, won the Community Partnership and Collaboration category for partnering with and supporting 10 local environmental groups and more than 30 individuals to mobilise community action on waste avoidance, litter prevention and reducing single-use plastics. C4I initiatives have reached over 3500 people and counting..

Ale Torres is an experienced program manager and Sustainability Engagement professional. A strategic educator and facilitator, she has over 10 years experience delivering collaborative behaviour change programs and solutions across Local Government, businesses and the Not-for-Profit sector in Australia and the South Pacific.


Ale is deeply passionate about collaboration and capacity building; she believes these are key drivers to collective impact and positive environmental and social change.

At Waverley Council (Sydney), Ale leads Collaboration for Impact (C4I), a successful program to develop the collective capacity of environmental groups and individuals to mobilise community action around litter prevention and waste avoidance. Ale also leads a cultural change program to embed environmental and social sustainability across all Council directorates and operations.
