This practical, 60-minute webinar is designed for managers and supervisors who oversee staff or contractors, delegate work, or have responsibilities under the Public Interest Disclosure Act 2022 (PID Act). Delivered by Tom Millett, Deputy Ombudsman, Public Interest Disclosures and Complaints-handling Systems Oversight at the NSW Ombudsman’s Public Interest Disclosure Unit, the session focuses on what managers need to know to confidently meet their obligations and support staff to speak up safely.
Participants will gain a solid understanding of their role as managers under the PID Act, hear directly from subject matter experts, and have the opportunity to ask questions and clarify real-world scenarios.

Meet Tom Millet

Tom commenced as a Deputy Ombudsman in September 2025. Tom has worked in the office since 2006, with a period at the Law Enforcement Conduct Commission from 2021–23. He has worked across a range of areas, including police oversight, project and corporate roles and as Executive Officer to two former Ombudsman. Most recently, he was the Manager of the Complaints Handling System Review Unit.
