Three days of learning, networking and fun!

The three days at the Governance Conference were fantastic, featuring excellent sessions and a diverse range of speakers from both within and beyond the sector.

The conference covered a wide array of topics, including Managing Grievances, AI (developing policies and council capabilities), Governance in Times of Natural Disasters, Developing a Positive Risk Culture, Council Meetings through the lens of a councillor, Project Portfolio Management, Project Risk Management, and Probity Planning. Attendees also received important updates from the NSW Office of Local Government and the NSW Independent Commission Against Corruption.

In addition there was a pre and post-conference workshops on GIPA and the upcoming Local Government Elections.

The event wasn't just educational; it was also enjoyable. Keynote speaker Tim Jack Adams from GreenX7 reminded us of the seven key elements we need to 'recharge' our batteries. Moreover, the Hawaiian themed conference dinner added a touch of fun and relaxation to the event.

The conference provided numerous learning opportunities and takeaways for continuous improvement and better practice. It also offered a valuable chance to network with colleagues from near and far.
