The Emerging Leader Award is an individual award that recognises a rising star, aged 35 or under, currently working in NSW Local Government, who have made a notable contribution to the sector and have demonstrated the potential for leadership and continuing service.
The recipient of the Emerging Leader Award will be provided with an abundance of professional development opportunities to take their career to the next level and spotlighted throughout 2024-25 with the following:
- A complimentary place on our Aspiring Leaders Program with a connection to a mentor who will support the recipient's professional development and career goals during the program.
- A complimentary registration to 1x conference of the recipient's choice which will include accommodation and all program items such as conference dinners. We would highly recommend this being the Accelerate conference in November 2024.
- A position on the Executive Committee for our Next Gen Member Network, or any other Member Network that suits the recipient's role, to help shape our offerings for members and be centre stage at our events by being an MC, facilitator or panel speaker during sessions.
- 3x 30min one-on-one professional development coaching sessions with our Executive Manager, Gavin Carnegie.
- A complimentary registration to the LG Awards Dinner in June 2025 to present the award and hand over the baton to the next recipient of the Emerging Leader Award. You will then be in contact with this recipient to provide mentorship, as they undertake the same duties you took throughout 2024-25.
