To be successful in a competitive job market, candidates need to think beyond their resume, and embrace their personal brand and interview style. Social media is often not considered by potential candidates, but is most certainly explored by potential employers. Setting yourself up with an elevator pitch, being ready to state your point of difference and grooming to impress an employer are all important elements to ensure you stand out the way you intend to.

  • Before you meet: getting your resume ready, creating a great cover letter.
  • Online ready: your online presence and editing your posts. When to use linked in and when to use Facebook.
  • Introducing yourself: elevator pitch, introducing yourself and grooming to impress your new employer.
  • Question and answer: Questions you might get asked and exploring answers that demonstrate competence. Questions you can ask to stand out from the other applicants.
