Copyright Governance in Council Workflow

Copyright Governance in Council Workflow
An important part of good governance for Local Governments is meeting legislative obligations, which includes obligations under the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth). Essential day-to-day activities within Local Governments involve sourcing and handling third party materials such as newspaper and magazine content, images and artworks, journal articles, website materials, reports, and other publications. Where this type of content is copied, or shared by employees without having appropriate permissions in place, it may amount to infringement of copyright law under the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth).
