Events Coordinator

The Position

We are looking for an Events Coordinator to join our professional development team.  The Events Coordinator develops and delivers a range of events and programmes for the association that enhances our profile as the professional development partner of NSW councils.  Working as part of a team, this role is responsible for delivering events, conferences and professional development programmes from development of content through to onsite delivery. The role demands exceptional organisation and communication skills and the ability to be proactive and take initiative.

Areas of Responsibility

Manages the annual calendar of association events and programmes by sourcing speakers, developing creative formats, managing budgets and all operational requirements and onsite logistics
Drives and administers bookings to ensure maximum delegate numbers including assisting delegates with registrations, invoicing and confirmation
Ensures all event logistics are managed including name tags, running schedules, call sheets, and MC briefing notes
Collaborates with member network executive committees to develop and implement related events and programmes
Identifies sponsor leads and converts to financial or other support for events and programmes
Drives the marketing and communication planning and messaging for effective and timely promotion of events and programmes
Builds and maintains influential networks with key stakeholders including members, council staff, designers, IT support, government agency and vendors
Collaborates with the Member Engagement Manager to ensure all professional development bundle benefits are utilised 

Key Selection Criteria

Previous experience in event coordination
Proven organisational skills, including event, project and budget management; a demonstrated capacity to work to tight deadlines, and work independently and as part of a team
Solid experience executing multiple events at the same time
CRM experience, iMIS preferred 
Excellent written and verbal communication skills when dealing with a range of internal and external stakeholders
Computer literacy including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
