GARY'S VISION

Our most immediate focus must be on supporting our professionals during this period of uncertainty and change. This support will be in the form of mentoring, coaching, guiding, use of networks and forums to exchange idea and share learnings and innovations. We must also continue to develop tools, templates and guidelines that our members need to affect change.

We must also continue to be an independent, apolitical, professional and respected industry voice for our members.

SIMONE'S VISION

My vision is for LG Professionals, NSW, and its members to be active in creating a new generation of local government in NSW. Specifically;

  • To develop the skills and capacity of our members.
  • To provide networking and development opportunities that support merged councils and continuing councils to develop new practices and services e.g. service review networking opportunities.
  • To support all local government professionals – at all stages of their careers (not just the senior executive)

DIRECTOR

Stewart Todd
General Manager
Narrabri Shire Council

STEWART'S VISION

Early in my local government career I was fortunate enough to attend an “Aspiring Leaders’ Forum conducted by the association which exposed me to industry leadership and opened up many doors for my future career.

My focus will be ensuring the association continues to provide great opportunities for the ‘up and comers’ of our industry to grow and learn – placing local government in safe hands now and into the future. We have recently seen an exodus of very experienced local government professionals, our industry needs to train and retain a knowledgeable, skilled and capable workforce to ensure the future success of local government in NSW.

JOE'S VISION

Ensure LG Professionals, NSW is the pre-eminent professional body in local government and ensure that local government’s reform package announced May 2016 leads to cost effective sustainable services for local communities. I have been a long term member of LG Professionals, NSW. I’ve been a board member since 2014 with my key interests being the roll out of the merger program and ensuring affected members have a board member involved in the process, advocate on behalf of our members to government, LGNSW and local government unions and providing members with appropriate training to ensure they are best placed to further their career goal.
